Zespół Pink Floyd zawsze dbał, aby dawać fanom sztukę najwyższej jakości. Czy to na koncertach, czy na płytach. Choć legenda rocka progresywnego już nie istnieje, jej dorobek żyje i żyć będzie, a od czasu do czasu poddawany jest zabiegom restauratorskim, aby fani zespołu mieli okazję przeżyć muzykę Anglików raz jeszcze, w lepszej postaci. W takim celu przygotowano zestaw Pink Floyd "The Early Years 1967-1972". Monumentalne wydawnictwo obejmuje aż 27 płyt, w tym siedem wydanych i zapakowanych w formie książkowej. Zestaw zawiera m.in. nagrania dla telewizji, stacji BBC, niepublikowane utwory, odrzuty z sesji, wersje demo, trwające łącznie ponad 12 godzin i 33 minuty! To w sumie aż 130 nagrań. Aż 15 godzin przeznaczono na zawartość wideo (z których ponad sześć pochodzi z występów; częścią zestawu są też trzy pełne filmy). Siedem godzin utworów w wersjach koncertowych wcześniej nie było publikowanych. Wśród niewydanych wcześniej piosenek są pochodzące z 1967 roku "Vegetable Man" i "In The Beechwoods".
