Legenda rocka świętuje 50-lecie!
W lutym 1968r. miał miejsce pierwszy koncert, a jesienią tego samego
roku ukazała się debiutancka płyta legendy rocka progresywnego,
brytyjskiej grupy Jethro Tull. Z okazji jubileuszu na rynku pojawiają
się dwie kompilacje podsumowujące półwieczny dorobek formacji
niezmiennie dowodzonej przez Iana Andersona.
Pierwszy oficjalny koncert Jethro Tull odbył się w legendarnym
londyńskim klubie "Marquee" 2 lutego 1968r. Zespół na tym etapie kariery
dość mocno czerpał z blues rocka, psychodelii oraz folku. Jednak już
wtedy dało się wyczuć magię kompozycji Andersona, który po kilku latach
był już jednym z najważniejszych muzyków na scenie progresywnej, a jego
zespół stał się na niej jedną z najważniejszych nazw. Choć od tamtego
dnia minęło ponad 50 lat, Jethro Tull wciąż koncertuje, wciąż porywa
publiczność.
Dla uczczenia pięknego jubileuszu 50-lecia angielskiej formacji
przygotowano potrójne wydawnictwo "50 For 50". Wyboru utworów na płyty
dokonał Ian Anderson.
Składanka "50 For 50" zawiera kompozycje ze wszystkich 21 studyjnych
płyt Jethro Tull. Ułożono je chronologicznie. Znajdziemy tu takie utwory
jak: "Beggar's Farm", "A New Day Yesterday", "Aqualung", "Locomotive
Breath", "Skating Away", "Critique Oblique", "Songs From The Wood" czy
"Heavy Horses".
