Austin w 1975 r. ukazał się po raz pierwszy jeszcze pod koniec tego
samego roku. Frank Zappa zagrał na nim razem z Captainem Beefheartem (po
raz pierwszy od czasu "Willie the Pimp" z "Hot Rats"). Nie tylko
zagorzałych fanów Zappy zachwycą bez wątpienia takie utwory jak "Muffin
Man", "Caroline Hard-Core Ecstasy" i dwie kompozycje Beefhearta,
nieosiągalne na innych wydawnictwach: "Sam With The Showing Scalp Flat
Top" i "Man With The Woman Head". Na albumie pojawił się również "hymn",
który zapowiadał 200. rocznicę powstania USA, "200 Years Old".
