Wspaniała wiadomość dla fanów legendy hard rocka, istniejącej już ponad 40 lat grupy Whitesnake. "Unzipped" to efektowny album, na którym znalazło się między innymi dużo rzadkich i niepublikowanych nagrań zespołu Davida Coverdale'a w wersjach akustycznych.

Wersja super deluxe zawiera akustyczne piosenki Whitesnake z minionych ponad 20 lat, zarówno studyjne, jak i z koncertów. Są też wersje demo, wywiady orz klipy z występów.

Możemy posłuchać, jak w delikatniejszej, akustycznej odsłonie brzmią niepublikowane wcześniej wersje "Summer Rain" i "Forevermore" z płyt "Good To Be Bad" (2008) i "Forevermore" (2011). Jest też "Love Is Blind" z solowego albumu Davida "Into The Light" (2000) czy niepublikowana wcześniej piosenka "All The Time In The World".

Wydanie super deluxe to także wspaniały akustyczny materiał z 1997r. "Starkers In Tokyo", na którym piosenki Whitesnake David Coverdale wykonał tylko z towarzyszeniem gitary Adriana Vandenberga. Płyta została przygotowana w wersji zremiksowanej. Nie zabrakło klasyków Deep Purple z czasów, gdy David był wokalistą, chociażby "Soldier Of Fortune" czy evergreenów Whitesnake bez prądu, jak "Is This Love" oraz "Here I Go Again".

"Niektóre z moich ulubionych miłosnych piosenek znajdują się na pierwszym dysku z tego wydania. A jak wiecie, ja lubię piosenki miłosne" - mówi David Coverdale.

"Początkowo nie byłem przekonany do wydawania akustycznych nagrań, ale występy z Adrianem z 1997 i Dougiem Aldrichem z 2006 roku bardzo mocno zapadły mi w pamięć. Przede wszystkim dlatego, że praktycznie pozwoliły mi być sam na sam z publicznością. Plus niektóre piosenki lepiej sprawdzają się z mniejszym uderzeniem".

DVD z kolei zawiera rozmaite akustyczne materiały koncertowe z lat 1997-2005. W tym cały koncert z Cutting Room w Nowym Jorku z 2008r. Gratką będzie z pewnością koncertowe wideo "Starkers In Tokyo" zmiksowane w systemie 5.1 i stereo.

Bonusowy materiał to wywiady z Coverdale'em i Vandenbergiem, bootlegowy klip do "Love Is Blind" oraz pokaz slajdów.
